Story Behind The Song
After my mother passed away in 1999
It was easy to write this song for my niece's first birthday.
Song Description
Tried to write a birthday song that would would leave a lasting impression. a lullaby of love that had multiple ways to listen and look at it
Written from the Father's perspective:
The song draws the connection between the grandmother and the granddaughter she didn't live long enough to see.
The video would feature endless ways to capture this connection through possible scenarios of the child growing up and discovering her namesake through photo albums, even old tape recordings...
The thread ot thought would be to weave a warm memory that comes to life across a generation.
The song also is about eternal love
family ties
life and death
guardian angel maybe?
Thankfulness
Count your blessings one by one, kind of thing
Honoring someone's life
The first line is inviting and sets the bar high for the rest of the song
Do we make it to the medal round?

Lyrics
MALLORY MAXINE
Welcome to the world, Mallory Maxine
In Heaven?s eyes and unto us,
A gift God gave to thee
Your first year is behind you,
Too soon for you to know
The love that dearly holds you,
Will always be your home
And as you grow,
You?ll hear her sing
And when you try,
She?ll spread her wings
And in your heart,
You?ll start to see
Someone who is just like you
Mallory Maxine?
One-year-old today,
Mallory Maxine
Thank you for the picture
Of what you mean to me
And when you shed a tear
I know God puts it in a bottle
To water all your sweetest dreams
Just reach for her
And she will sing
And as you soar,
She?ll spread her wings
Unfold a million
Memories of love
Mallory Maxine, my baby dove
And as you grow,
You?ll hear her sing
And as you soar,
She?ll spread her wings
And love will fill each memory?
So smile for the world
And take another step
And one day you?ll wake up and see?Mallory Maxine
