Story Behind The Song

Drive In Movie was written as a part of a collection of songs I was working on that all have themes of science fiction, mysticism and adventure. The initial inspiration behind this song were the songs written by Red Simpson and Dick Curless about Truck Driving. I wanted to take the original vibe they had in those songs and add a few modern synthesizers and to give it more of a cinematic sci-fi feel. I imagined Drive In Movie as the soundtrack playing to a Cowboy and Aliens Sci-fi movie playing on the gigantic screen of a drive in movie theater.

Song Description

A modern day country western song with acoustic guitars, dirty bass, drums, percussion, strings, piano and synths. Driven by a pounding train beat and rhythmic guitars, it tells a story of courage, determination, adventure and the strangeness and beauty that can often occur on the open road.
