Story Behind The Song
Hammer Down was written as a part of a collection of songs I was working on that all have science fiction and mystical themes. Hammer Down was inspired by the feeling of freedom that you get when traveling on the open road, whether it be in an 18 wheeler, a motorcycle or anything in between. When writing Hammer Down I drew upon the sounds of two of my favorite bands that I feel have that spirit of freedom embodied throughout their music, The Allman Brothers and AC/DC. I added a few extra synths to give it a more mystical vibe and Hammer Down was born.

A powerful hard rock song with a driving drum groove, gritty guitars, bass, synth, organ and keys that has a retro feel-good vibe with just a hint of oddity to make it mysterious and captivating.
