Story Behind The Song
Stranger Than Me was written during a time of extreme change in my life that was brought on by my move from a small rural town in Pennsylvania to Los Angeles, California. I was feeling strange about a lot aspects of life, but was excited at the same time and as a result was trying to write and record more experimental songs. As with most of my songs, it all started with the acoustic guitar intro(which was later changed to piano on the recording). The melody and lyrics came quickly and the song was written and recorded in just a few days in my home studio in the apartment I was living in at the time.

Lyrics
Stranger Than Me
Yesterday is almost here while tomorrow is gone.
The sun is setting in the eastern sky right before the dawn.
If only I could understand the way I'm feeling,
Then maybe I could make a change.
But I don't really understand the way I'm feeling.
Things are getting absolutely, positively strange.
I watch the children play with razor blades as mother shines their shoes.
Although it feels I'm in another place, I think it's all good news.
If only I could understand the way I'm feeling,
Then maybe I could make a change.
But I don't really understand the way I'm feeling.
Things are getting absolutely, positively ...
Stranger than anyplace I've ever been.
Stranger than anything I've ever seen.
Stranger than anyone I've ever known.
Stranger than me.
And now it feels like I'm sinkin' in, right into the stone.
My head is swimming in a sea of clouds. I hope I make it home.
