Story Behind The Song
Every Thursday was theirs. They had a standing date to play in Central Park. It was obvious there was romance between them but still he hesitated - he'd been burned before and wanted to take it all slowly this time. She was, of course, ready to leap as she always was. They did literally "ride" (on bicycles) through the streets of NYC late that Thursday because they just weren't ready for their day to end. There had just been a big fundraising race in the park that day and so there were actually bars where they could "drink for free" if they were wearing a runner's number. And those numbers, they found, were in every garbage can along Central Park South - so they grabbed one each and headed to the post run parties! A magical night it was!
Song Description
an optimistic song about the bittersweet moment before you dive in or walk away from love. Sometimes it works to just "wait and see" and sometimes you have to take the leap.

Lyrics
THURSDAYS
Last week we rode through the streets of New York City
Dodging cars in search of a bar where we could drink for free
Freedom was the treasure we were racing for all day
We both knew there'd be a price to pay
Our next day together is a movie in my mind
Holding hands and making plans for adventures yet to come
There'll be no talk of leaving this love we've found behind
I have you everyday in the movie in my mind
Thursdays in the park
Could it be enough to fill this empty well?
Sparkling days and dancing nights, is it all a dream?
I know your answer: only time will tell.
Only time will tell if this love will grow
Will it stay right here, or will we find the faith it needs
to let it grow? Or do we let it go?
If I could I'd read ahead and find out how this ends
It seems without a guarantee you'll stay up on your fence.
I can't promise what we have is the miracle you seek
And so I'll have to live for love one day a week.
