Story Behind The Song
This piece is in its fourth incarnation. Life #1 began back in 1996 as the electrical noise loop that starts the piece, which I assembled from a CD of sound samples. I added guitars to this, playing what you hear in this recording as the main logdrum part. Life #2 came in November 1996, when the guitar idea (stripped of electrical noise) formed the basis of a piece I performed with a group at a Guitar Craft Level 1 course in Argentina. After a long dormant period, Life #3 came in 2001, when I resurrected these themes (still without the electrical noise)as part of a co-composition with a member of a GC-related guitar circle in the SF Bay area. And finally, Life #4 came in 2003, when I transferred the original guitar parts into Reason, played by Logdrum and Vibes, and adding a middle break and much atmosphere.
