The shepherds were tending their flocks in the morning
Without any warning an angel appeared.
He said don't be frightened I've something to tell you,
The news that I bring you the whole world must hear.

They bowed down before him without hesitation,
With anticipation they hardly could wait.
He told them a baby was born in a manger,
And he is the savior who will lift our weight.

The shepherds they hurried to find the Christ baby,
With Mary and Joseph on his bed of hay.
