Song Description
The song is called Good Friday, pointing to the day when Jesus died on the cross. In the song we hear from Jesus, as He questions His father. We also hear from someone else, as they question their life and existence. They feel alone and forgotten. We then hear Jesus call the bluff on the character's loneliness (as well as ours), pointing out that He has never been accepted. Almost if to say, stop your complaining.
We find common ground with Jesus in our loneliness and suffering. There is deep irony here, as so often we try to avoid suffering and pain. Perhaps we can reconsider our suffering when we realize the deep spiritual reality that it might be in our pain we unite with Him.

Lyrics
Jesus speaking to His Father:
I've done everything you wanted
Is there something that I'm missing?
Could you show me?
I've spent all these hours curing
And teaching in the temple
Why don't they believe?
What if they don't even know we're here?
Us sitting lonely in our flesh:
After all these years of living
I look around and feel like
No one knows me
I've tried everything there is to do
I'm sick and tired
Of feeling so darn empty
It's like no one even knows I'm here
It's like no one even cares I'm here
It's like no one even sees me here
Jesus calling our bluff:
(Luke 19:42)
If you knew
On this day what makes for your peace
But now it is hidden from your eyes
(Matthew 23:37-39)
How I longed
To gather your children
But you were not willing
No, you have never been willing
When will you be willing, with my life?
You would kill
The prophets and stone the ones
That I sent
You were not willing
No, you have never been willing
When will you be willing, with my life?
Us accepting Jesus:
Lord, I am willing to let you in
Lord, help me be willing to let you in
Lord, help me be willing to let you in
Please help me be willing
I want to be willing for you to be in me
