Story Behind The Song

Tabanca is a Caribbean word used to define a feeling of loss/heartbreak. Not entirely based on relationships, but also being away from something that you loved or cared for - being homesick, missing pet, not able to have your favorite food! It's just the idea of being sad and frustrated because something/someone you really want(ed) isn't available anymore.
