Story Behind The Song
I had a job where your assemblies of machined parts were exhaustively examined by inspectors. I was inspired to write the song about one of The Inspectors that I joked with about being too critical.
Song Description
This song expresses the anxiety and frustration when Inspectors would make you rebuild an assembly. This is meant as a light-hearted view of the overly fastidious inspectors tendencies.

Lyrics
Here he comes a walkin' 'round
and you hope he moves on past.
You wish it's the bench of the other dude
where he chooses to stop at last.
'Cause he's The Inspector.
Yah he's The Inspector.
Oh you'd better build it right
or The Inspector will shed the light
on why you're wrong
the rebuke is strong.
'Cause he's The Inspector.
Yah, yah he's The Inspector.
When he comes walkin' down your aisle,
you get an inverted smile.
He brings trepidation, consternation,
palpitations and grief.
'Cause he's the inspector.
Yah, yah he's the Inspector.
The prospect of him calling your name
means there's an issue and you're to blame.
You're renowned but
you don't want the fame.
From The Inspector.
Yah, yah from The Inspector.
He's always lookin' for something wrong,
he'll rip up your build and slam on your song
put up a fuss and you'll be gone.
'Cause he's the inspector.
Yah, yah he's the Inspector.
When he comes walkin' down your aisle,
you get an inverted smile.
He brings trepidation, consternation,
palpitations and grief.
'Cause he's the inspector.
Yah, yah he's the Inspector.
Yah, yah fear The Inspector.
Watch out, watch out for The Inspector.
Don't mess, don't mess with The Inspector.
Don't try to bribe The Inspector.
He'll get ya, get ya The Inspector.
