sounds like a micheal jackson song ...i like the lyrics
Melancholy and lonely, the somber keyboard leads into a forlorn melody, very well composed. I like how the tale, told so many times in many songs, is told in a different way, a different angle. It really has a meditative, lonely, detached and forlorn feel; a floating feel of wondering if this is unreal or just a dream, yet it looks you in the face. Instrumentally stark, soft, minimal...it captures the feeling perfectly. It reminds me of "This Mortal Coil," an album of somber songs from the 80s. This song would fit well on any pop album for adult contemporary. Very nice job!
The melancholy vibe of this song works. Nice use of space and sparseness. It takes patience to not overdue something.
Great voice very much sounds like Michael Jackson! the Lyrics are strong and tell a very clear story. Haunting Melody and overall very easy on the ears. Leaves me wanting more. Would like to hear more from this artist as the voice is very commercial.
Very touching, soulful and unique approach to this topic. Instrumentation is ideal for this piece. All in all a very good and original work.
Every now and then you hear something that is so starkly original, you just want to say WOW. This is one of those songs. It's a story; it's a ballad inspired by a picture on the wall of a lounge (great entry point) and the songwriter goes on to tell a poignant tale of loneliness and longing in such a creative way. I love the "all of the above" hook. I appplaud the honesty of the song and the surprise twist in the end when the guy takes his turn. The vocals are flawless; the effect on the voice was well-chosen...it added an ethereal element that was effective, but not overdone. This songwriter has the ability to paint a picture, tell a story that is instantly understandable, very believable and totally awesome. Great job!
