Nicely written song with clean production.
This is a gripping song about someone driving downtown and seeing the down and outers/homeless struggling to survive on the streets. The word pictures are excellent and evoke empathy from the listener. "You're so lucky," so have some compassion on those you are seeing who have been "dealt a bad hand" and need kindness. Excellent message. Interesting use of the phrase "turn the other cheek" which usually means a reaction to anger, but here it seems to follow more in the line of a Levite in the Good Samaritan story. He turned away and didn't help the victim of beating and robbery. Smooth vocal, excellent instrumentation and production. This is a polished piece that deserves (and needs to) be heard by many. I could see it used in a movie or a documentary or music video.
The strength in the song is the lyric. Very deep and insightful.
Very current problem of society.
good intro, i really liked it and set the song up well, had a 1980/1990 feel from the old disco, dance genre. the music and production is well put together with some well chosen sounds and a decent groove. Moving onto the lyrics this has a religious message with a relaxed laid back delivery from the singer
This is very interesting in a rhythmic sense - the off-beat snare drum in the verse is super cool. The vocal has a very cool, almost jazz vibe super imposed over a slick R/B keyboard pattern. The keyboardist is a monster - kind of like Steely Dan meets Richard Marx (I mean that as a super compliment). There is a lot to listen to here, and it is very captivating.
This is a solid track with instrumentation that compliments the songwriting well. I like how the lead vocal is straight up and very present to the listener.
Nice intro. Vocals are clear and nicely layered, and the production is nicely balanced. Perhaps the chorus/refrain 'looking at the face of god' could have more of a lift to contrast it with rest of song - for example, the drop around 2:30 works well. In any case, I enjoyed listening - keep up the good work!
nice intro......
Great upfront vocal, great doubles. I like the drum track and percussion. Great sound. Really great tune you have!!!
