Story Behind The Song
Some friends of mine, Holly and Dave, had a baby boy recently. They live in Tasmania and have been big supporters of my music. Since they are so far away I thought I'd write a song about their son, kind of making it a mythical story; part truth but most

Lyrics
This is the story of King Finian with bright and silver fins
He fought Starfish
Sea Anemones
Were his enemies
He ruled the Briny deep
With a halo of Angel Fish he protected the Great Barrier Reef
It's nurseries
'Cus even all the fish
They have babies
That need protectin'
(Chorus)
His name was Finian a baby boy born in Tasmania
He's half Sicilian, half Yankee blood but all Australian
He was a sea creature that grew two legs to walk the dry land
He was a king down there but now he's come to join his Mom and Dad
He weren't a complacent king but his kingdom was falling apart
A massacre
Other than predators
It was progressively getting worse
His beautiful reef was dying
"I'll get to the bottom of this even if I must sprout me two lungs
Or grow me two legs
Leave my ocean home
Join the Human Race
To stop with all the killing"
(Chorus)
