Story Behind The Song
Christ tells the woman at the well that if she'd have asked him, he'd have given her living water that wells up to life everlasting. He says that he's the true vine and without him we can't bear fruit. God is our powersource through Christ and if we let that power go through disobedience and forgetting the very God who gives us our power, we can become victim to struggles we'd once conquered, pain we thought we'd left behind, and the dark place that our disobedience can bring us to. This song is a reminder of our powersource, how to see if we're not tapped it into Him, and how to get back in right relationship with Him. Abide in him and bear fruit ;-)
Song Description
It's a reflective rock ballad turned anthem by the end of the song (great for a character revelation scene); befitting the song's theme: recognizing when our disobedience guides us away from God, realizing the power that we lose when we do, and fighting to take that power back by getting in right relationship with our God.

Lyrics
"Lights Out"
(c) 2012 Kepa Freeman
Your hold is getting weaker.
Your power's almost gone.
You're searching for the reason,
When you had it all along.
You're thirsty for the answer,
Won't admit you're wrong,
You're world is spinning faster,
Trying to be the master,
But you got it all wrong.
How can I see the shadows round me,
If I believe my light's still there.
There is no life, without that living water,
No vine and fruit won't grow,
There is no power, without the one who gives it, and it's
Lights out. . . if you let your power go.
It's darkest on the inside,
But your cover still remains,
You're wearin' what you used to,
But it doesn't feel the same.
Your joy is on the outside,
Standing cold in the rain,
Your peace is in a past time,
You're fall follows your last time,
Till you finally start to say. . .
How can I see the shadows round me,
If I believe my light's still there.
There is no life, without that living water,
No vine and fruit won't grow,
There is no power, without the one who gives it, and it's
Lights out. . . if you let your power go.
Don't let it go!
Live inside of Him!
Don't let go!
He's providing!
Don't let go!
No more hiding trying to do it on your own.
Don't let it go!
You know He's strong enough!
Don't let go!
He's proved it long enough!
Don't let go!
And you've been wrong enough to let Him lead you on. . .
There is no life, without that living water,
No vine and fruit won't grow,
There is no power, without the one who gives it, and it's
Lights out. . . if you let your power go.
Don't let it go!
Don't let it go!
Don't let it go!
Don't let it go!
There is no life, without that living water,
No vine and fruit won't grow,
There is no power, without the one who gives it, and it's
Lights out. . . if you let your power go.
