Story Behind The Song
The Ragdoll Concerto is the first Concerto we have ever produced. The piece features the incredible talents of Marc Golde on piano and Jerad Miller on violin.
This piece is very special for some very unique and compelling reasons. Marc Golde's father is Holocaust Survivor, Henry Golde. Henry was sent to the concentration camps as a mere child at the tender age of 11. As a child, Henry witnessed atrocities that most of us could not possibly imagine. Atrocities that reveal the absolute worst
of what humanity is capable of. Yet, through it all, Henry not only survived, he never allowed himself to become bitter, he even
came to realize and see for himself that humanity has incredible potential and is capable of even greater things in the name of love and kindness.
Henry's personal true story is told in the book titled, "Ragdolls." We think the best way to describe the autobiographic book is;
The story of Ann Frank had she survived.
The book titled, "Ragdolls" was also featured as part of Oprah Winfrey's Book Club.
We HIGHLY recommend you read this book! It is one of the most compelling true stories we have ever read. Imagine, facing the Holocaust as a child, having your innocence ripped away and then miraculously finding it again.
To imaging that this piece of music would not exist as it does if Henry had not survived the Holocaust makes this piece of music very special. Our dream is that one day The Ragdoll Concerto could be performed at The National Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. or even at one of the concentrations camps that Henry survived as a testimony to the courage, resilience and power of the human spirit!
