Story Behind The Song
Bluegrass has always been such a part of my life. This was the first blue grass song I have written. With feedback from other songwriters and some Nashville pros, this is the end result of my efforts. This is one of my new songs for upcoming shows starting in the fall of 2011.

Bluegrass Home 2011 LYRICS 7/1/11 10:59 AM
Bluegrass Home by Pam Shuler, 2011
Verse 1
I've been longing lately for the place that raised me.
as I sing with the radio a fiddle plays with banjo.
In three short hours I'll be packed and leaving.
Chorus
Headin back to my Bluegrass home.
Weeping willows soothe my soul.
Goin on down where I belong.
I'm headin back to my Bluegrass home.
Verse 2
When I cross County Line, I hoop n holler each time.
Mama's in the kitchen fixin up some fried chicken.
This is more than vacation it's a little bit of heaven.
Chorus
Headin back to my Bluegrass home.
Weeping willows soothe my soul.
Goin on down where I belong.
I'm headin back to my Bluegrass home.
Bridge
The Old Hound Dog welcomes me
as I glide on the porch swing.
Then I'll rest my tired mind
by the creek that's beckoning. instrumental
Chorus
Headin back to my Bluegrass home.
Weeping willows soothe my soul.
Goin on down where I belong.
I'm headin back to my Bluegrass home.
tag no more longing now, I'm leaving now for my Bluegrass home
