Story Behind The Song
This just came to me through the music-medium magical dimension.
Song Description
"Why can't you be like me....a little lost at sea..." -- that line had me at hello. I love songs like this that are a little mysterious and ethereal and intimate. "The waves stay the same..." can have so many meanings in that one simple, mysterious line. It's a reminder that life refreshes itself constantly and there's comfort in that. The waves will never stop no matter the craziness that might happen in and around them and even because of them. It's also a reminder that the waves will never change, so if we want change WE need to change and learn how to work with that rhythm and rocking motion. The song suggests that it would be so nice to find someone to learn how to manage that motion together. And to find someone who can appreciate that motion as much as we do. To find someone who thinks it's actually quite beautiful to be a little lost at sea." - Jennifer Haase (songwriter of no relation)

Lyrics
Why can't you be like me
A little lost at sea
Oh my surprised by what you find
Like a captain who's lost his mind
Oooh-oooh ah huh
Oooh-oooh ah yeah
Oh won't you dream with me
A toast to what shall be
Alive before you everything
Just open up your eyes
Oooh-oooh ah huh
Oooh-oooh ah yeah
The waves stay the same
