Song Description
Written while working on Sea Island, GA...but frequently visiting Los Angeles where the 405 freeway is constantly clogged up with traffic, I decided to add lyrics after listening to the great jazz/blues singer Barbara Morrison!
She had previously recorded some of my music which was done beautifully!

Lyrics
(Sea Island Blues melody & chords)
L.A. Blues
words & music
Phil Morrison
(2 choruses of 12 bar blues - rhythm section)
(verse 1)
Drivin' on the freeway - that "no move 405"
Standin' still's the average rate of speed
Don't matter where you're goin'- you're late when u arrive
A chauffeured helicopter's what you need
My patience's almost gone - damn that line is long
Lord I got those L.A. Blues
(verse 2)
I'm giggin' at this hotel - a 5 star place for sure
So why's the piano so far out of tune
Their daily rates are crazy - 600 bucks or more..with
Pricy little doo dabs in each room
They treat musicians bad...man I get so mad!
Lord...I got those L.A. Blues
(verse 3)
Yes they call be Barbara.....I got a little name
It's great that you come see me when you can
I 'preciate you being here - so glad you came
I'm speakin' for both me and my band
Thank you everyone....I'm havin' so much fun
Talkin' 'bout those L.A. Blues
Thank you one & all....I hope you had a ball
While hearin' 'bout those L.A. Blues
