Bittersweet Raindrops

Story Behind The Song

I wrote the melody without lyrics but I knew that it would become a vocal song eventually. The melody evokes sadness as does the lyric. These are the sounds in my heart and in my mind these days.

Song Description

This idea was born during a low emotional moment. All the figurative language is really a crutch I use instead of painfully uttering the deeper and more literal truth.

Lyrics

Bittersweet Raindrops can't keep from falling,
Tears born recalling a memory
Clouds keep the sunlight veiled in the moonlight,
A chapter written called destiny.

And where do all the butterflies hide on stormy nights?
And why do all the winds of change wrong all the rights?

Bittersweet Raindrops wash all my sorrow,
Cleanse my tomorrow; I'm new again.
