Story Behind The Song
This song came to me in a dream. I watched some snotty "New Age" guy sing it, and it was just fascinating. I could only remember the first line of the first verse and the first line of the chorus when I woke up, and I filled in the blanks.

Lyrics
Well it's time for a look at those old home movies
You go back to when you were free from your duties
It's an optical spectacle made for your eyes
And a hole for your soul to go down as it dies
You can't let yourself dream if you've gotta make a living
It'll mess you up bad, it'll take all you are giving
You can try to pretend that you're somebody cool
Who has everything they want including the pool
I go down by the school at the start of September
And the smell in the air helps me start to remember
All the things that I loved long before when I was part
Of the whole like I gave up to be someone smart
But it hardened my heart
To the things that are simple and free and forgotten
To just suck on the straw when you get to the bottom
To be dumb as a rock and to feel all brand new
To be simple and free, and to know who is you
Yeah, to know who is you
(Repeats not noted)
