Lyrics

I'm going down to the fright yard, that's where the trains come rolling in.
I'm going down to the fright yard baby that's where the big trains rolling in
I'm gonna ride me the rails just like old Bobby Dylan did.
I'm gonna ride me the rails just like Woody Guthrie did.

I might go west to California, I might go south to new Orleans
I might go west to California I might go south to new Orleans
I might go north to Chicago or south to Nashville Tennessee.

I'm gonna drink from that bottle, I might drink that bottle down.
I'm gonna drink from that bottle, I might drink that bottle down.
I gonna roll me some reefers, I might smoke them reefers down.

First, this is a GREAT song, and that is in music industry terms. It starts off infectiously with a guitar riff and vocals like Neil Young, and it sticks all the way through! The juxtaposed notes and beats are perfect. Your gift of melody comes through on this. It's memorable as heck. DAMN! The organ works very well. I like it better than say if you used a harmonica. It gives interest and has fullness. Lyrically simple and passionate, who couldn't relate to being set free to explore life for yourself? It's a classic song for all time!

The over all song is really good...

Steady rhythm gets the job done. Shades of JJ Cale and Call Me The Breeze. A veritable cavalcade of blues themes. From the first note to the last you know exactly where it;s coming from. This is the blues at it's most primal, rock on.

Here's a traditional-sounding blues song about the wandering hobo riding the trains. I really like the guitar and organ. Vocals are pretty clear and easy to understand. Might be good in a movie about train travelers.
