Story Behind The Song
I first did a version of this song imagining riding my bicycle under a particular bridge in Charlottesville, Virginia, but it quickly turned into a song about Main Street in Florence, Kentucky, and features walks to the Y, where I swam every summer, and my aunt and uncle's lovely hilly little old horse farm up the road, which was eaten by the airport and disgorged into a totally flat runway designed to bring more money into the local economy.
Song Description
A very acoustic short little acoustic walking song about the town I grew up in, Florence, Kentucky.

Lyrics
Like a bicycle under a bridge
I'm making you a sign
The top of the bridge is a good place to find
The side of the road for the very first time
Now the signmaker's sign on the bridge
Takes off like a sparrow
I dream that I ride in my cousin's Camaro
Then walk to the Y in my Main Street sombrero
Keeping in back of my mind
A spot for that one place in time
Can I just pay you in kind
By writing your name on my sign?
Like a plane flying over a barn
I'm making you a sign
The horses all stand in their stalls in a line
The pond is a mirror
The hills are all blind
Like a bicycle under a bridge
I'm making
The top of the bridge is a good place to find
The side of the road for the very first time
Keeping in back of my mind
A spot for that one place in time
Can I just pay you in kind
By writing your name on my sign?
