Story Behind The Song
This song came from the time when Jesus healed the ten lepers, and they went away. Only one came back to give thanks for what happened. What happened to the other nine?
Song Description
In the Bible story, Jesus healed ten lepers. It was a dreaded disease and Jesus showed His compassion on them in healing them of it. Afterwards, only one of the lepers returned to Jesus to thank Him for his healing. Where were the others?
As then, so sometimes now with us. We know that God blesses us yet are we thankful? This song is a thoughtful and tender reminder for us to be thankful always for God's gracious providence and blessings.

Lyrics
Verse 1
Have you forgotten the moment when the burden was lifted,
When salvation was given to you?
Have you drifted so far from the old ship of Zion that the Lord is no longer in view?
Or are you like the lepers when Jesus healed ten only one was up to the task.
To give glory to God for saving his soul, will you be the one to come back?
Chorus
Will you be the one that gives God the praise.
When your faith just crumbles and cracks.
Remember He saved you, repent and give thanks.
Will you be the one, no longer delay, will you be the one to come back?
Verse 2
Are you too busy to come back to the Lord for forgiveness when the world it cannot satisfy?
When you've tasted the pleasures that sin can afford
Like the son who ate with the swine.
Do you remember the time when your heart's light shown bright but now it's black, confess all your sins.
He'll forgive everyone, it's never too late.
Will you be the one to come back?
Repeat Chorus
Verse 3
Nine didn't come back to Jesus who healed them
To give praise for their miracle true.
Does the world and its' sin still have you in bondage;
Can't you hear that God's speaking to you?
Like the prodigal son who ate with the swine
His father would sure have been glad
Just to have him come home and eat bread with him
Will you be the one to come back?
Repeat Chorus
