Lyrics
Second Chances
Verse:
He did time for robbing a Five and Dime
One time loser livin' on the street
The man decided he had paid for his crime
Don't get you a job or a place to sleep
Walked in the store where he once did wrong
Boss pulled a gun and shot him down
Thought he was there to do more harm
Policeman found him bleeding on the ground
WE ARE NOT OFTEN BLESSED WITH A SECOND CHANCE
LIFE"s FULL OF LESSONS THAT HAVE TO BE LEARNED
SO EASY TO GET CAUGHT UP IN CIRCUMSTANCE
SECOND CHANCES HAVE TO BE EARNED
SECOND CHANCES HAVE TO BE EARNED
They called for a bus and hauled him away
Got the house preacher for his last request
Doc said he won't live the day
Before he dies he's got something to get something off his chest
Grabbed the preachers hand said pray with me
For the man that shot me with his gun
There's one thing left on earth I need
To help him live with what he's done
CHORUS
Bridge:
Jesus saved my soul while I did my time in prison
I went back to that hopin' I could be forgiven
He did his time for robbin' a five and dime
Future is no longer in doubt
Couldn't get away from his crime
Second chance just didn't work out
Chorus
