Story Behind The Song
This song went top ten for me in Canada. Got a lot of air-play on CMT with the video we shot in Palm Springs and Santa Barbara. Top 15 on BDS Country chart summer of 2004.
Song Description
This was my ode to nostalgia wrapped up in the classic car and fun times shared there between a couple and their romantic cruises, even if if they merely parked and rolled around under the stars.

Lyrics
Catalina Sunrise
by Sean Hogan
Route 66, I 70 West, to find a better road trip, for sure we'd be hard pressed.
Still with all the miles we travelled and horsepower taken to the test. I can so easily tell you girl what I liked best. We'd be parked with the rag top down, there was no one but us around just you and me and the wide open scenery....ya waiting on a
Catalina sunrise, after a night of rollin round the stars in our eyes.
Catalina sunrise like a sun deck on wheels, you I layin' in the back, of a 69 Purple Pontiac, fallin' in love, lookin up, over the dash and catchin' the dawn comin' on a Catalina sunrise.
Santa Catalina Island, off the California coast, I hear the mornings are like magic out there, but I know they could never come close. How about that little town in Arizonna, just a short drive North of Tucson, with the same namesake but not the same daybreak baby, I've been reflecting on.
Might be just some old car to some people, that model made the Motor City proud.
now A relic a ghost yet I'd still drink a toast to fun we had in it, laughin' out loud. We'd be parked with the rag top down, ya there was no one but us around just you and me and the wide open scenery....ya waiting on a
Catalina sunrise, after a night of rollin round the stars in our eyes.
Catalina sunrise like a sun deck on wheels, you I layin' in the back, of a 69 Purple Pontiac, fallin' in love, lookin up, over the dash and catchin' the dawn comin' on a Catalina sunrise.
