Story Behind The Song
Just before Tony left the studio one day, I asked him if he could record a couple snippits of anything...anything. He came up with the cool guitar riff that rolls throughout the song. Again, I began to slice and dice to get the shell of a song together. I had all the music somewhat there and sent the piece to the guys in the band and asked them to tell me simply what the music reminded them of. A couple of them said innocence and childhood so I drew on my own and went back and wrote the song. Yes. Mrs. Hoffman was my neighbour growing up.

Lyrics
As a child I remember Saturday mornings, warm and hazy
As a boy, cold Decembers building in the snow.
I was king of the world
And in my youth I was foolish. I know I was so full of pride
I had everything that I had ever wanted, still empty inside my heart.
For so long, I have longed to go back to childhood mornings
And ride around this town, waving to all the neighbours
Good morning Mrs. Hoffman. All your flowers are so pretty.
I'd like to pick some lilacs for my mother.
Cause I have broke her heart and I have caused her pain
And as a man, I have scars that once defined me
So I found the man who breaks these chains that bind me
My soul, my soul, my soul cried out for you
And no I'm so, I'm so, I'm so in love with you Lord.
You found me where I am
Lead me through this place
You know who I am
Find freedom through my grace
For so long, I have longed to go back to childhood mornings
And ride around this town, waving to all the neighbours
My soul, my soul, my soul cried out for you
And now I'm so, I'm so, I'm so in love with you Lord.
