Lyrics
I have to go away for awhile
To a place where my soul can rest
The climb is much too high
And I don't hear a sound
But I will not let this mountain
Take me down
Footprints form a vision in the snow
Only faith will warm me when I go
The path that lies before me
Has no Heaven and no ground
And I will not let this mountain take me down
Don't know where I'm going
But I sure know where I've been
And I never want to see that place again
No I never want to see that place again
Bloody tears will mark my way back home
A trail on which I find myself alone
No comfort for my hunger
And no bed to lay me down
But I will not let this mountain take me down
Suddenly the ravens fill the air
With magic on their wings they drop for me
The stone of my compassion
It goes spinning round and round
And I did not let that mountain take me down
Don't know where I'm going
But I sure know where I've been
And I never want to see that place again
No I never want to see that place again
And I did not let that mountain
Take me down
