Story Behind The Song
We came up with this fooling around with my Turtle Beach sound card and a four track cassette recorder I bought from Mike Argento. John came up with the idea of making it about Ganja. That's what the music made him think of. We then made up a story and the rest is history.
Song Description
This song is about two guys wanting to get away from the rat race of normal living. Jamaica seemed like a good idea to them.

Lyrics
GANJA
by Rusty Newcomer and John Zortman
Ganja
Made our way to Jamaica man
Stowed away on a banana boat
Blowing winds and monstrous waves
Don't believe we stayed afloat
They found us hiding and took our cash
They made us work all day or we'd get the lash
So of course there came one day we saw some land
And over the side we went for the promise land
Don't got no worries ain't got no debt
Don't need no place to stay just a place to rest
And when we're hungry or in the mood
You play for ganja and I'll sing for food
Don't got no worries ain't got no debts
Don't need no place to stay just a place to rest
And when we're hungry or just in the mood
You play for ganja and I'll sing for food
(Lead)
Ain't got no winter and it's never cold
Live free and easy until we are old
Eventually the time will come when we have to die
But I know how I'm goin' I'm goin' free and high
Don't got no worries ain't got no debt
Don't need no place to stay just a place to rest
And when we're hungry or just in the mood
You play for ganja and I'll sing for food
Don't got no worries ain't got no debt
Don't need no place to stay just a place to rest
And when we're hungry or just in the mood
You play for ganja and I'll sing for food
