Story Behind The Song
This song came out of left field when I came up with the riff on my ukulele. Over the course of a couple of months, the lyrics and concept were born, and became a sort of prayer for the world.
Song Description
This song is inspired by African music, with a click clack rhythm and happy, repeated melody throughout. The lyrics are about the vulnerability of being human. The heart is metaphorically spoken of as being an elephant, because of it's size.

Lyrics
The Human Heart
The human heart it is an elephant
fenced in so nobody can touch it
afraid if someone were to see it
the weight of tenderness would crush it
Oh life I hunger to live it
although I may not understand it
floating around on a planet
I'd like to ask the light of love to
to shine upon us
The human heart it is an elephant
and you know elephants are very brave
to wake up each and every morning
and trust that everything will be okay
Oh life I hunger to live it
although I may not understand it
so now I have to put my shoes on
I'd like to ask the light of love to
to shine upon us
Shine on us
The human it is an elephant
and you can see them jump right over the fence
don't think that we will ever catch them
they're running off into the sunset
Oh life I hunger to live it
although I may not understand it
and now all over the planet
I'd like to ask the light of love to
to shine upon us
Shine on
