Story Behind The Song
As a Black man, I am tired of people compromising and downplaying rights, freedoms and opportunities of people. To satisfy their own racist agendas and to keep the power and opportunities for themselves and people who "look like themselves". There are consequences for racist actions that impact everybody.

Lyrics
Consequences
Well you better think about it, Brother
How you treat your fellow man
You better think about it, Sister
And get yourself a brand new plan
Well you better think about it, Brother
This ain't no antebellum (colonial) days
Well you better think about it, Sister
And change your racist ways
Well, there are consequences, Sister
For the things you do
There are consequences, Brother, for both me and you
There are consequences
Consequences you might not see
There will be consequences, Sister
If you mess with people, people like me
Well you better think about it, Brother
About the things you do
You better think about it, Sister
About whom you're doing it to
You better think about it, Mother
This ain't 1953
There are consequences
If you mess with my, mess with my family
Well you better think about it, Brother
How you treat your fellow man
You better think about it, Sister
And get yourself a brand new plan
You better think about it, Brother
This ain't no antebellum (colonial) days
Well you better think about it, Sister
And change, and change your racist ways
