Song Description
Written in the style of musicals the American Songbook including an explanatory introduction, the lyrical content of this song is all about a young lady raised in the 1940's being indoctrinated by her parents into believing that she'd never be allowed to meet and fall in love with the person of her dreams, but rather would be paired up in an "arranged marriage" by her parents. However, like being hit by a lightning bolt she meets and falls immediately in love with a significant other and exercises her inner strength to follow her heart. She never thought love was meant to happen spontaneously and naturally, but she found out that it is!

Intro
(Rubato)
My parents always brought me up
Thinking marriage was arranged
Love was not spontaneous
Before vows could be exchanged
What a revelation
What a brand new point of view
When fate revealed a different path
The day that I met you
==========
I never thought that it was meant to be natural
I always thought that it was part of a plan
I never thought that it was meant to be natural
Never thought to hold out my hand
But when I saw you there
I nearly fell apart
Within just
One short stare
You'll stole my heart
So then I thought to myself how could this be
In my world, in my life, could I be this free?
I never dreamed it would happen this way
I really love you
(16 bar instrumental solo)
I never thought that it was meant to be natural
I always thought that it was part of a plan
I never thought that it was meant to be natural
Never thought to hold out my hand
But when I saw you there
I nearly fell apart
Within just
One short stare
You'll stole my heart
So then I thought to myself how could this be
In my world, in my life, could I be this free?
I never dreamed it would happen this way
I really love you
I really love you
I really love you
