1 Before

For one yellow second,
All sequence ceases &
The unravelling of order begins..

Sirens loose their pitch etching themselves into black roads,
Songs flounder in discordant dry lakes.

Voices crack, hoarse & brittle.
Birds remain silent & still.

Intervals are pressed beyond recognition into grey cement.
Lovers cries are smothered in thick mud.


2 After

All sequence reframes
Into harmonic hierachies
As new frequencies
Play off old sounds
To create fresh, round spiralling peaks
And green rolling valleys.

The inside of harmony is exposed to charged blue air,
While birdsong resumes the sonic development.

The notes group
and parade for all to hear.

Opening minds
and expanding
hearts.
