I'd wake up crying in my bed
Frightened by some monster I saw
The door would open, there'd be Mom or Dad
They'd chase those ghosts right back behind the wall
They'd say,

I tamed the monsters and the ghosts,
My dreaming went from nightime to day;
Till one dream consumed me, it became my only goal
Despite what everybody'd say.

I finally listened and i opened my eyes
But I didn't care for what I saw.
I tried real hard to drift back into that dream,
But, I couldn't find where I left off.

I've got a wife now and two boys,
And sometimes they wake me at night;
And I'll come running, chase away those ghosts,
Hide my grin and tell them it's all right.

And if you chose it'll go away.
But think real hard before you open your eyes,
