Story Behind The Song
The lyrics came from when I worked as a labor worker for a landscape company. While I dug holes and ditches all day, I would just tell myself that I'm "moving the Earth with a shovel, Like a foot that shifts liquid in a puddle..From that I gained more strategies than the Bulls in a huddle"
I combined the lyrics in my head with several lines form an old notebook I've had probably since high school, and the words just were. They fit the Beat great. Chips of Gold was the first time I ever created and recorded a song that sounded complete. This was the first of many. Soon after this song, the CD "260 South 4th St." Was recorded.
Song Description
The song touches on philosophy and desire, Africa's drum, and how it spawns healing power through music.
The Chips of Gold are the many pieces of compositions that all musicians carry with them for a lifetime.
