Story Behind The Song
Being a multi-instrumentalist I perform and like many styles of music. I was noticing that the people who knew me for my jazz piano only wanted me to play those kinds of shows and the people who knew me as a gospel singer thought that was the way to go. Those who knew me as a R&B keyboardist only saw me in that light. So I wrote this song to say that I have many sides and no one will set my limits but me.
Song Description
An upbeat rock influenced hip hop track about setting your own limits and not living life inside the parameters that others have set for you. It's a highly energetic head banger with a catchy grunge guitar lick set over a drum n' bass feel with hard hitting lyrics and vocals.

Lyrics
Verse 1:
Mama told me don't judge a book by its cover
but all around me seems like that's what I see everyday
People looking but only see what they're after
Tryna tryna put me in a box to make you feel safe
But Imma live it like I wanna so please get it straight
No I don't care 'bout what your thinking so go on and hate
Never let popular opinion paint my image for me
If offend your point of view oh well excuse me please
Chorus:
Please excuse me
I can't be what you think I should be
Please excuse me
I can't live my life according to you
Who the hell are you?
To tell me what you think I should do
So excuse me
I'm not that nigga man!
Verse 2:
Daddy told me don't judge a book by it's cover
no matter where I go that's the one thing I can't escape
Trying to keep it fresh giving more than they're after
But pigeon-holed version of me is all they wanna take
But Imma live it like I wanna so please get it straight
No I don't care 'bout what you're thinking so go on and hate
Never let the status quo decide my image for me
If I offend your point of view oh well excuse me please
Chorus
