Story Behind The Song
The true story of a Cambodian boy who overcame immense odds to become a Christian after his parents died. Ann Van Valen ? the head of International Childcare Ministries, the organization that found sponsorship for Sinj so that he could live and continue his schooling outside the Buddhist monastery ? told me this story. I?d like to dedicate this song to Ann, to Apol ?Paula? Guazon (the missionary who headed the House of Love where Sinj ?went runnin? to), and to Sinj, who at last report was fully grown and ministering to the people of Cambodia

Lyrics
If I could come to Christ again
I would want to run like Sinj
Sinj was orphaned at the age of eight
Abandoned to the temple gate
They dressed him in an orange robe
Shaved his head slick as a globe
What they taught felt incomplete
They sat him at the Buddha?s feet
They said, only you can save yourself Sinj
So he ran
Sinj went runnin?; Sinj went runnin?
Sinj went runnin? to Jesus
A letter from his friends told of
A Christian home called House of Love
Where Paula G. would treat him right
But the monks forbid him Christian life
Until he snuck outside and he ran
Across the miles he feared no fall
He fled the temple robes and all
A blur of orange chasing the call
Straight into the arms of God
