Story Behind The Song

This is a song about relationships. About wanting to get close to someone, but they keep pushing you away. They may have reasons for doing this, but they cause pain to the person they are trying to keep away from them. They think they are doing a favor to this person by causing them initial pain and loss, believing that extended relationships and interaction with them will cause more pain than the initial loss. It's from the perspective of the person being pushed away... Being told by the one they love or need that they need to leave and be alone, or face the pain of being with them and experiencing greater pain and loss, or heartbreak.

Song Description

Alone. A song about being alone, and about pushing people away from you. Some like to be alone, and will push people away to keep them out of their lives. They feel like they have nothing to over anyone, or that they've seen so much trauma in their lives, and believing they are the cause of that trauma or pain, push people away to save them from the pain and/or anguish they may feel inside, or might make others feel or experience.
