Story Behind The Song
This scene in a lot of ways was the most important one in the movie, where music was most critical. The director (in the documentary) was on screen staging the discovery of his mother's suicide, and there were a range of feels and emotions to hit, and needed the right tone of underscore without being too dominant yet moving through different stages and retaining the surrealness of the moment. At least in this movie, it seems to work perfectly for that scene.
