Story Behind The Song
Erik came up with the music first. It sounded like a rock opera from the get-go, so Juliann wrote words to match the drama. Originally sung in Spanish, in homage to an ex Uruguayan boyfriend, it went to French when Erik said he just liked the sound better in French.

Lyrics
Cafe outside Paris
We need to talk but it is difficult when there is
Something I gotta say, words getting in the way
I need to ask you but I don't know how to say it
A cafe outside Paris
Oh mon dieux
Como tu dire I want you
A party just off Laffite
We get to talking and I can't believe my ears when you say
Tu parlez francias bien, pour un american
I want to reply but the words are sticking in my throat
A party just off Laffite
Oh mon dieux
Como tu dire I need you
And I need to know
'Cuz I want you so
And I want to know
Should I stay or go
A flat just outside Orleans
I need to talk but it is difficult when there is
Something I gotta say, words getting in the way
I need to ask you but I don't know how to say it
A flat just outside Orelans
Oh mon dieux
Como tu dire I love you
And I'd love to know
'Cuz I want you so
And I need to know
Should I stay or go
