Children's World

Song Description

This song was originally written as a poem in 1999. Eventually, after several attempts over many years, I finally got the inspiration for the music. Those willing to search a little deeper than the surface will find a message that, unfortunately, will never become dated.

Lyrics

Like the rose
Covered by the morning snow
A sleepy breeze flowing through its leaves
Petals blown
Pollen thrown into the waiting night
Searching for a hidden light
Lost for hope
No rope to hold against the strong and random wind
A wind which blows through all

In the land of milk and honey
Talk is cheap
But then, there is no money
Not for those who choose to play by the rules

Like the rose
Man is on an unknown course
Carried by the wind, he knows peace so rare
A brain left bare
Concerned only for himself
No one else can touch his heart
Closed of thought, without a spark
Silently, when minds are free
The light may then escape into a land where it is safe

When the same applies to lunatics
Wise men
And their fools
Then the rose
With its hope of life
May reach our children's world
