This song has several themes. It's about a love that will never dim. It's also about a son or daughter growing up and the changing relationship between them and the singer/parent. And it's about never passing up a chance to show your children that you love them. My son had a tough time as a kid, and he told me that what this song meant to him was that my wife and I would never give up on him.
