Story Behind The Song
This song was written one week prior to the tradgedy on 9-11. The demo was recorded on the evening of Sept. 10, 2001. In a crowded city after a skyscaper building collapses, a woman frantically is searching for her husband and father of her two children. She carries his picture around hoping someone has seen him. She stops on the debri filled sidewalk when she hears a voice. Her husband is speaking to her from the afterlife. God Only Knows

Verse 1
I don?t know when I?ll ever get a chance to say
I love you again, it might be tomorrow
Or a lifetime from here on the other side
It feels so right lying here your body pressed
Against mine so tight, here?s my chance to tell you
That you got the one thing I can?t live without
Chorus
God only knows how much I adore you
And heaven knows you?re my angel
This undescribable emotion inside of me
God only knows, God only knows
Verse 2
I?m lookin? out through all the faces
You?re searchin? the crowd hopin? you can find me
A light shines down on my soul, my spirit is free
I?m by your side, you?ll be in my heart always
Keep the flame bright, I can see the candle burnin?
I?ll be here waiting on the other side
Repeat: Chorus
Bridge
Keep the flame bright, I can see the candle burnin?
Repeat: Chorus
