Story Behind The Song
One day when I had too much to do I mentioned to someone I'd like to clone July. She said "They call it California" and this song was born, partly inspired by Dolly the Sheep, who used to live near me.

Lyrics
CLONE JULY
©Woodstock Taylor
Busy making plans just the other day,
Summer was expanding a while away,
Dreaming of my fantasy holiday
In the sun
When all the work has been done.
I have got a pile full of stuff to do:
All those things that I've not attended to;
Maybe in July I'll find something new.
Should be fun
When all the work has been done.
Hey, I want to clone July
And she said "They call it California."
One July for you, one July for me,
Still so much to do, why not make it three?
If we got a few, then we needn't be on the run
Till all the work has been done?
Hey, I want to clone July
And she said "They call it
California, with the heady sweet smell of bougainvillea,
Palm trees, orange sunsets, never cold
And the skies are paved with gold."
Just one single cloud in my mental State
I want to be there now, but I've got to wait;
Got to move this mountain and navigate
Till I've won
And all the work has been done.
Hey, I want to clone July
