Story Behind The Song
This is one of those that wrote itself to begin with and then got polished up when Mark Riddick and I worked it out to conclusion together.
Song Description
The slightly upbeat groove is accented with killer lead guitar and organ to create a warm, welcoming mood. Lyrically, Human Condition expands on hard work and the struggle of reaching our goals. It encourages stepping out of comfort zones and keeping love in the mix to achieve the things we desire. I think it's a welcomed departure from the classic Country tropes of booze, trucks, and settling in small home towns. As to be expected with Zap & The Wires, the band nails the sound and feel and showcases fine solo work when necessary. Overall, Human Condition by Zap & The Wires is an enjoyable listen that ventures out of the box while maintaining that good Country sound.

Lyrics
D. G
It takes a little time to get anywhere
D. A
It'll take you forever if you stay put here
Keep on pushin and you'll move right along
Overthinkin'' it will always lead you wrong
If one door closes try to unlock it
Take some time and put it in your pocket
A
It's what we do and what we don't
G
It's who we love and who we won't
F#m
It's battle of wits it's a preposition
A D
It's all part of our human condition
Yes it takes a long time to get anywhere
You'll never get there if you don't really care
You can float your boat or drive in your car
You can take a jet plane if you're going that far
But you'll never arrive at your destination
Unless love is the heart of your foundation
CHORUS
BRIDGE
G D
The day will come when every horse will be ridden
Every race won, every diamond gifted
Every poem read, every story written
G A
And in the end every heart will be lifted
It takes a little time to get anywhere
It'll take you forever if you stay put here
Keep on pushin and you'll move right along
Overthinkin'' it will always lead you wrong
If one door closes try to unlock it
Take some time and put it in your pocket
