Story Behind The Song
I wrote the song on an envelope while driving home from the Court Tavern in New Brunswick, NJ at 3 AM in my used 1974 Cadillac Eldorado. The next day when I looked at the lyric the only thing that made sense was the title line but it was enough to finish the rest properly.

Lyrics
She's the one I want but she don't want me
I can't seem to end this misery
What can I do tell me what can I say
I got to get you girl to see it my way
But she don't want nobody
She can have anyone around
She don't want nobody
Rather be out just fooling around
She's the one I want but she don't want me
I still can't seem to end this misery
She don't want my flowers don't want anything
She ain't impressed with the way that I sing
And I been hearing all over town
Nothing she likes better than just fooling around
But not with me, she's not with me oh no she's not with me
so woe is me right now
solo
She's the one I want but she don't want me
So I'll just move along now and I'll let her be
Tried to plead my case but the girl can't see
All the tears I cried just fade into the sea
Now I'm alone all by myself
Feelin' so lonely don't want anyone else
