The 63rd Grammy first round considered re-imagined Imagine by Shawn Mitchell and the kids of the WorkStudy Performing arts Choir. John Lennon's universal song that speaks to deep human longing is adapted to bring in the divine in this gospel infused version. Journey with the kids as they learn the song from Shawn in the time of COVID. The audio was released on the day of George Floyd's funeral as the nation and world stood in desperate need of the unity, brotherhood and healing that can only come from the Father of Creation. The video was shot the day before John Lewis' funeral further closing the circular need for coming together before we disintegrate separately. With a gospel build starting around 3:35, the message that 'the world will be as one' resounds with grace-filled hope. We further "hope that someday you'll join us" - perhaps even today.
