Shakespeare's Lovers

Scott and Hayden wrote this song sometime after the horrific events which stole our friend, Eurydice Dixon from us last year. The sentiment which drives the alternating themes came after witnessing how my small community of outsider, underdog comedians (of which Eurydice was a big part) dealt with the tragic loss, individually and as a group. The purity of the humanity I witnessed during that time, the raw emotion, the searing and scarring pain, the anger and hate combined with and juxtaposed by the love, care and concern with which our community banded together to protect each other was an incredible example of the best and worst of how people can treat each other and it's through that experience that this song was born and why this song, which is essentially about one of the worst things that's ever happened to us contains such a hopeful chorus as, "I'll be there beside you, always. Close your eyes when days go sideways Feel my hand on your brow Are you feeling better now? Trust me, babe. I know how much your heart weighs."
