Liz Dykes & Andy Weatherhead met at the Open Mic Surgery that ran for over ten years each Wednesday night at the Stubbing Wharf pub in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, England. Liz sang a capella in groups ranging from duos to large choirs; Andy composed music and collaborated as a guitarist with local musicians. In 2006 Liz & Andy began writing songs together and performing them locally.
In 2015 they recorded their Debut Album 'Throwaway Lines' as The Cobblestones, with local producer Patrick Evans. Patrick is also a singer-songwriter, who grew up in the Calder Valley, and had collaborated with both Liz and Andy on musical projects before setting up his own recording studio in Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd.
In 2018 The Cobblestones teamed up once again with Patrick Evans to record their second album 'My Way Back'. Their song 'Deja Vue' was considered by the Mastering engineer to be so horrendous it had no place on the album. This was later released as a sin
