Al Hovden started writing songs as a teenager and has written hundreds of songs over his career.
He and his long-time songwriting partner, Dave Jenneson, wrote many songs for their Vancouver based band The Burner Boys back in the early 1970s.
From there he went on to write for the legendary Bruce Fairburn, producer of Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Yes and many other great acts. He also wrote for and with Terry Jacks who had the #1 world hit Season's In The Sun.
He has had many songs recorded by Canadian acts and has been published by Bruce Allen's Rock Headquarters Publishing (Bryan Adams, Michael Buble, Dianna Khrall's manager)as well as other publishers.
He continues to write and is currently in the process of working on a documentary film based on the story of his band The Burner Boys as told in the novel "A Band Is A Beautiful Thing", written by his former songwriting partner Dave Jenneson.
