Bigg Dutch - Biography

Take one listen to a song delivered by rapper Bigg Dutch, and immediately you get the impression that the lyrics are inspired by a man who’s telling his story from first hand experience. That feat is no coincidence, since Dutch writes all of his songs about the life that he has seen growing up in the rough streets of South Los Angeles. Watts California to be exact. The 28 year old rapper grew up listening to all types of music, including pop, rock, jazz, and r&b, but it was the deep impressions left on him by rap artist like N.W.A. Tupac Shakur, and Ice Cube that would lead this young mc to take hold of a Mic. and never look back.

No stranger to the world of hip/hop Bigg Dutch has been in this struggle for sometime now. He’s put together several underground cd’s with a number of talented local producers. He’s also been featured in the works of well established acts like the Westside Connection, and the Ice Cube sponsored act The Comrades who were once a Priority Records label act. Though he’s made good progress in his quest for stardom with these early contributions it’s his work with Inglewood Producer Bryon (Big Chuck) Epps that is really starting to position him for a run at the industry.

Since teaming with the hot beat maker from Inglewood California, Dutch has managed to land some major film credits, by being featured in songs that have been and continued to be used in major Hollywood film and Television projects. Shall We Dance starring Jennifer Lopez and Richard Gere, and Garden State starring Zach Braff and Natalie Portman are just a few places that songs featuring his voice can be heard.

By continuing to work hard Dutch hopes to soon land a deal that will allow him to move forward with his dream, one day becoming a major player in the music industry. There is a lot of talent out there, itching and clawing for a place at the top, but when you were raised in a city as tough as Watt’s you learn to expect a fight, it just comes with the territory.
